2GC Web Documents
Format
- 2GC Web Documents (FAQs, Presentations, Case Studies, Papers etc.) are stored on this site in "Portable Document Format" - comonly known as PDF files. You need to use a special program to view files stored in this format - the most common of these is called Adobe Acrobat Reader. Versions of the Acrobat Reader program are available for a wide range of computers. It is very likely that your computer will have a copy installed already - if not you can obtain a copy for free from the Adobe web site.
Problems downloading or opening 2GC Web Documents
- If you are experiencing problems downloading or opening 2GC Web Documents, it is most likely that they are due problems with the configuration of you copy of Adobe Acrobat (or its equivalent) on your computer.
- 2GC Papers are stored using version v1.5 of Portable Document Format standard (PDFv1.5). To view files stored in this format you need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6 or better, or an equivalent. If you try and open PDFv1.5 files using earlier versions of Acrobat Reader various problems may occur. We have found that the quickest and easiest way to fix these problems is simply to install (or reinstall) the latest version of Acrobat.
- If you are using a Macintosh computer, recent versions of the operating system (OS X) have a built-in PDF reader called Preview. Preview is able to open and work with all 2GC Web Documents. However a quirk in the way early versions of Preview handles document security means that upon opening a 2GC Web Document you might be presented with a dialog box asking you to enter a password. If this happens, simply click on the 'Done' button to close this dialog box and continue to view the document.
